| Services & Benefits Provided Members
Arbitration - Furnishes and administers complete arbitration facilities between members, as well as members and non-members, in accordance with the association's standard arbitration procedures and rules.
Trading Rules - Provides clearly defined Trading Rules covering purchases and sales so as to afford protection for both Buyers and Sellers.
Communications - Disseminates to the membership all available information relevant to industry wide interest by issuing weekly Communiqués. Initiates and pursues such public relation activities on behalf of the industry as are appropriate, and lends all possible assistance feasible to individual members upon request therefor.
Traffic and Maritime Committees - Initiates and/or intervenes and actively participates in all domestic and foreign transportation proceedings affecting the industry including, but not limited to, rates, classifications, and other Governmental Regulatory matters. The association retrains, on a permanent basis, competent traffic counsel who specialize in al rail and motor carrier traffic matters. The Maritime Committee works with the Steamship Conferences, individual lines, and Port Authorities, to secure more favorable rates, and commodity classifications for the members participating in export-import trade.
Sales Meetings - Provides trading sessions for the members, commonly known as Sales Meetings, in conjunction with association meetings.
Research - Maintains an ongoing interest in Research Programs specifically designed to perpetuate the markets of textile fiber by-products in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Research Division, the National Cotton Council, the National Cotton Batting Institute, and other related industries.
Governmental Liaison - Maintains direct liaison with Federal Agencies, including Agriculture Department, Commerce Department, Custom Bureau, Internal Revenue Service, Interstate Commerce Department, Customs Bureau, Internal Revenue Service, Interstate Commerce Commission, Maritime Commission, Trade Commission, Tariff Commission, and others, including those of states, counties, and municipalities, pertaining to legislative and regulatory matters wherever affecting the industry. A close liaison is maintained with other related industry associations with which Textile Fibers and By-Products Association cooperates to the fullest extent in programs or other endeavors beneficial to the industry. |
